<AREA> tag description

Syntax

1. <AREA SHAPE="rect" COORDS="x1,y1,x2,y2" HREF="...">
2. <AREA SHAPE="circle" COORDS="x1,x2,r" HREF="...">
3. <AREA SHAPE="poly" COORDS="x1,y1,x2,y3,xn,yn,..." HREF="...">

Meaning

1. Clickable area declaration inside client side map declaration (<MAP> tag), rectangle shaped.
2. Circle shaped area - coordinates refer to center.
3. Polygon shaped area - you have to give the coordinates of all points.

Compatibility

Handheld devices often do not support image maps because there is no mouse and therefore no cursor.
